DEC 5 - 6 . . . Results posted . . .

Day One:

Today greeted us with a forcast of moderate seabreezes and clearing skies - and the reality lived up to expectations, with a 10 - 15 knot breze from the ENE enought to keep most of the fleet of 40 Hobies happy. Race officer Hooper got proceedings going with a 45 second briefing, and racing started on time at 11:30am. One race before lunch, then another 3 after with the breeze looking like is was fading out in race 3, but filled in again in race 4 providing the best conditions of the day.

John Eastment organized Hobie Wave races for the under 14 kids that weren't sailing with dad, and the 4 Waves had a group of 12 kids enjoying the time of their lives in a series of 14 races!

After the racing was wrapped up for the day, the sailors, WAGS and kids settled into doing what Hobie sailors do best - socialising. Vincentia Sailing Club organized a brilliantly catered spit roast meal at the club grounds, and at 9pm most families were still 'hanging out', chatting and enjoying a few cool drinks. A highlight of the evening was Jonjay's crew Brian knocking out some melllow tunes on the guitar for all to enjoy whilt sitting around the fire.

Hope you are all organised for the NSW STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS in Vincentia.
Remember it’s the last Regatta at Vinnie before the nationals next year so make sure you check out all the best accommodation and get clued up on all the local knowledge.

Speaking of local knowledge Gilby, Quinny and Jake reckon they are a sure thing to trifecta the 18 fleet. Any Victorians coming to give Kershy’s a hand to knock them off?

Andrew and Mick are not so sure that their one two from the last regatta is repeatable. With Taylor/Emma and Cam/Susie coming from the west and the Waterhouse Clan in full force who is to say any one in the 16 fleet could be overconfident.

The club will be open Friday afternoon and the Hobie Waves will be ready should conditions suit a wave challenge.
Saturday evening will be a beach party so bring a rug or some chairs to enjoy the night.

Not having a crew is no excuse we have quite a few in training . But get in quick as it is first in best dressed.

The weather forecast is great, the dolphins are frisky (ask Patrick Butler who had a dozen or so leaping all round his Bravo  . . . 50 metres off the club last Sunday morning)
The rest of the locals are friendly . . . and . . .  the bevies will be cold!
